Ike Patterson has over 35 years experience in ministry, counseling, and leadership development. He came to Morning Star in January 2009 from the staff of Brookwood Church in Greenville, South Carolina--one of the fastest growing congregations in the south. Ike leads MSC's spiritual development and family ministries.

Ike has a BA from Charleston-Southern University and Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also a Certified Pastoral Counselor and Life and Leadership Coach.

He and his wife, Debra, live in St. Charles. They have 5 adult children and 8 grandchildren. He loves to play golf anytime, any weather.

You’re on a cross-country road trip. What three food items must come with you?

No doubt about it: sour cream and onion chips, Starbucks, and tootsie pops to keep me awake.

Name something people would be surprised to know about you.

I played bass in a band in high school called “Wholly Jive.” We were awesome. NOT!

If your elementary school teachers had to describe you in three words, what would they be?

“He’s still alive?”

What’s the hands-down best concert you’ve ever attended?

Chicago in the 70’s at Furman University (before they went big time).

You have a day off. What do you most look forward to?

Either being on the golf course or spending time with my lovely wife!
